All of the gimmicks employed to entice young buyers raises the cost of PC products. When the price reaches a certain point then many consumers are excluded from purchasing. I think many graphics cards and mobos have reached that threshold and it's going to get worse with the worldwide economic recession.
100% LED that brings only shiny lights is not only an added cost, it is unneeded complexity and thus failure points. And lighting up the interior of a computer case must be the definition of wasting energy, especially as it also means more heat generated so need for cooling.
Asian word as a product name combined with steampunk cogs and gears and unicorn vomit glowing RGB. Gotta love marketing departments and, even better, what it says about people buying computer parts if this is what it takes to land sales.
